1. An undertaking requiring thought, planning and execution, consisting of “moving pieces” and requiring proper timing and often cooperation between two or more parties. Closure is achieved through completion of the “project” with a “deliverable.
2. (diplomatic) An undertaking requiring more than five (5) minutes continuous thought, zero planning, slip-shod execution, consisting of “cultural misunderstandings” and requiring constant revision up until completion. Closure is achieved through resignation to failure of one’s obviously too high standards for the “project” with the “deliverable” being a shadow of one’s expectations, but in the end no-one knowing because of one’s diplomatic poker face commenting on the quality of the wine.
Ex: 1. Dinner. 2. Organizing the pantry. 3. Scanning one’s childhood photographs. (when a project is abandoned, or just left alone for ten minutes, it becomes furniture; SEE FURNITURE)
